There is nothing that I love more than a DIY Bride. So when I talked to Olivia Griffin about 2nd shooting her super DIY sister-in-law’s wedding, I was immediately excited. Then when I pulled into the driveway of an old white house in the middle of the North Carolina Mountains, I was blown away. A field of yellow flowers, impeccable gardens and a gor-geous bride! Eeee! I think I definitely squealed out loud. Abby and Nate put so much thought into the details and schedule of their day, it was the easiest wedding I’d ever shot. That field of yellow flowers I just mentioned? Oh yeah, they definitely had their first look in the middle of it. I’m going to dedicate an entire blog post just to their first look so come back later this week to see those!

Not only is Abby a DIY girl, she’s also got an eye for a good sale. She bought this beautiful dress off the rack for less than next to nothing!
The gardens were like a maze. And every turn you took was more interesting than the last!
Abby made the boutonnières herself. We all tried to convince her to start her own etsy shop…If I found out that she did I will definitely let you all know!
I love how Nate changed into more comfortable shoes.
Ah! The DIY details. They were perfect.
Shortly after the first dance, the bottom of the sky fell out and it rained for the rest of the reception. But Abby and Nate didn’t let a little water keep them from having fun. A newlywed game kept everyone pretty entertained.
